Sight Words Sentence Builder

Not a freebie but worth the price. Great for emerging readers!

Did you know that automatic recognition of Sight Words is an essential part of functional literacy? This fun game covers all levels of Dolch Sight Words and lets students practice them in context.

The game is fun and simple. Using grade appropriate Sight Words, children assemble short sentences from given words. The player receives visual and auditory feedback indicating whether the response is correct. Once the student answers correctly, the exercise moves to the next sentence.

Free Kindle Game for Kids: Bubble Pop Music

Fun way for kids to practice their scales/music knowledge.

Do your children have perfect pitch? Absolute pitch sense appears to be influenced by experience, especially in the early years. Bubble Pop Music can help your children develop this ability, and the best part is that your children will actually play it! When you combine learning with this app’s fun bubble-popping action, children will easily master identifying instruments by sight and sound, the sounds of notes, and written music! The game begins when your child blows or taps on the wand to make the bubbles appear. Different items appear inside the bubbles, and your child is asked to find one. When he or she touches a bubble, the child is rewarded with a satisfying “pop” if it’s the correct answer. Each level of the game introduces new knowledge, and more bubbles with more choices, as your child is ready for them. Exciting bubble popping sound effects are featured throughout the game! Key concepts are repeated throughout the games to reinforce learning while your child happily plays with the gently floating bubbles.

Kids Math Tetris

I found this game challenging; I think it would be good for elementary age math practice.

The Kids Math Tetris – Free app is a classic Tetris-style game with a twist. The numbers fall like the Tetris bricks, but you can only remove the bricks if they add up to a given number and they are next to each other on a same row. As you go up the levels, the numbers fall faster.

Kids Math Tetris – Free features three game modes. In Marathon 10 mode, the number to add up changes every level. In Time mode, you have a limited amount of time to play. In Forever 10 mode, you are always trying to add up to 10.

Give Kids Math Tetris – Free a try and compare your scores on the global leaderboard.

Please note that this app is ad-supported.
